Peter Lantin

Peter Lantin currently resides in Victoria but calls Masset, Haida Gwaii his homeland and has lived throughout the coastal communities in which BC Ferries operates.  As the elected President of the Haida Nation from 2012-2019, Peter has been an advocate for communities and a determined leader who provides a strong voice and balanced perspective to all matters he is passionate about.  His early career was rooted in community and regional administration, starting as Band Manager for Old Massett Village Council from 2000-2004 and continuing on in Prince Rupert as the COO for TRICORP (Tribal Resources Investment Corporation) from 2004-2011, delivering lending and business development services throughout Northwest BC.  Peter has extensive experience serving on Boards such as Chairperson of the Gwaii Trust Society, Trustee on Coastal Nations Fisheries Trust and currently serving a 2nd term on the Board of Directors for the Prince Rupert Port Authority.   Peter is also passionate about broadcasting and has spent the past 17 years as a play-by-play announcer on CFNR covering the All Native Basketball Tournament, better known as his radio moniker, Pistol Pete.  His proudest achievement is being a Dad to his daughters, Taylor and Brooklyn.
