Claire Trevena is a resident of Quadra Island and has served the North Island as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from 2005 to 2020. From 2017-2020 Claire was appointed to the Executive Council as Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. Through her varied career she has honed diverse skills – from crisis management through to policy development and project implementation. Trained as a journalist she worked for the BBC, CBC, The Guardian and other news organisations, before moving into international development in post conflict societies. She was awarded the UN Civilian Peacekeeping Medal. Over the years she has worked on many volunteer projects in her community and beyond.
